The Journal
How many times has there been something really strange at your school? There was something I'd consider weird at my school, but the thing is I had no idea about it, at least not until Social Studies class. I was listening to Mrs.Hartness teach about the Civil War. I really enjoy listening to her teach about it, but that day it wasn't really that interesting of a lesson.
Mrs. Hartness asked me to go get a journal off her desk. I had no idea what she was talking about, but I immediately went to her to look for the journal that she was talking about. When I got to her desk I found the journal, and it turns out that it was the journal of a Civil War soilder. I picked up the journal, and simultaneously I was sucked into a time portal.
I worried about what would happen to me, and it was at that moment that I realized where I was. I was in the Civil War! At first I panicked because I knew lots of people had lost their lives during this battle. I knew that I had to remain calm and figure out how I had got there. At first I thought maybe I was dreaming." No,no, I know that I was in Social Studies class and I had picked up the journal." " The journal!" I screamed, "Where's the journal?!" It was at that moment that I looked up to see if the journal was close by and I saw the empty, bloody battlefield. I saw thousands of dead bodies all around me,but there was one thing I didn't see-the journal.
I wondered if I would ever get back home, and then I saw it. I saw the journal next to a beat up dead man. I ran over to get it, picked it up, and expectd to be taken home. It was at that moment that I realized I had a problem:It didn't work. I bet I tried a thousand ways to get home before I realized I had the wrong journal. I immediatly began running and searching for the journal,my brown hair flowing in the wind. I wondered how much time had passed, and if anyone had noticed my sudden dissaperance. As I continued to search for the journal, I spotted it in a nearby tree. I ran as fast as I could to see if it was the right journal. About tn minutes later I was up in the tree. I grabbed the joournal to see if it was the right one, and it was.I was relieved!
I slid down the tree, and as I was sliding I was simultaneously sucked back into the book. Several minutes later I realized I was back in class. I also noticed that everybody was going back to homeroom. I was so happy that I had got back. I know I will be really careful before I touch, or go near, anything Mrs. Hartness has again!

TCAP
I can't belive TCAP is almost here! I dread it because we have to take that huge test. I'm not really scared about how well I'll do, but I just don't like TCAP time to come around because everybody gets so worked up about it. I really can't wait till it's over so everybody can just relax,(until it's time for the scores to come back in anyway.) I really hope TCAP seems to fly by this year. I'm sure a lot of other people do too.

My Favorite Book
My favorite book is probably Little Women because it talks about the lives and adventures of four girls and a dad away at war. The reason that I like it so much is because it doesn't tell about them all together but it tells a lot about all the things they do when they're not with their family. It also explains about what it's like living in earlier times.(It would be a lot harder living in earlier times than it would be now.) But in the end it all turned out great. That's why I like it so much. It's also 20 points on Reading Counts.
