I love the beginning of school!  New books, new school supplies, new classes, new teacher...(gulp!) NEW TEACHER!!!!

It takes time to get to know a new teacher and for a new teacher to get to know you.  It's normal to feel nervous and to miss that "comfortable" feeling you had with your 4th grade teacher.  That comfortable feeling comes only from spending a lot of time together.  It would be cool if your new teacher could magically know all she needs to know about you!

Which brings us to our first blog topic:  What do you wish your new teacher already knew about you?

I usually give this assignment every year.  Kids have written everything from "I wish Mrs. Ewing knew I am very shy" to "I wish Mrs. Ewing knew that I don't know my multiplication facts very well" or even "I wish Mrs. Ewing knew that I love horses".  You can write one sentence or 50 sentences!

   Remember the rules we talked about:

1.  Never put your last name or the last name of friends in your blog...not safe!!!

2.  Never put information about where you live or where you may be going etc., also not safe.

3.  This is published writing that others will read.  Try your best to use correct grammar and punctuation.  I know that you're still learning, so I expect mistakes.  Your mistakes shouldn't be caused by carelessness.  Always do your best!

4.  I will read over each post to your blog before it posts to screen it for these rules.
